Payton Welsh ~ Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas 2016

Payton is the 16 year old daughter of Matthew and Beth Welsh. She is a Junior at Meade High School where she is a member of Kayettes, Science Club, International Club, and FBLA. Payton grew up showing 4-H horses, but it didn’t take her long to find the rodeo world. She has in Junior High School Rodeos, High School Rodeos, Harper Co Roundup Club, Young Guns Timed Events and also is a member of the United States Team Roping Championships(USTRC). Her favorite event is Team Roping, but, she also ties goats, and runs barrels and poles. After high school Payton plans to pursue a career as a horse chiropractor. She wants to give back to the four legged athletes that have brought her so far.  One of the goals she has is to win a USTRC Roping. Having the opportunity to represent the exciting sport of rodeo and the beautiful state of Kansas is something Payton takes great pride in. She lives by the motto “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”
